About the Author
Arti Hurria, MD, is a geriatrician and oncologist who focuses on the care of older patients with cancer. She completed a geriatric fellowship in the Harvard Geriatric Fellowship Program, followed by a hematology-oncology fellowship at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). She subsequently joined the faculty at MSKCC, where she served as Co-Principal Investigator on the institutional NIH P20 grant 'Development of an Aging and Cancer Center at MSKCC'. In the fall of 2006, Dr Hurria joined the City of Hope as Director of the Cancer and Aging Research Program. Dr Hurria is a cadre member of the Cancer and Leukemia Group B, Cancer in the Elderly Committee, and is a recipient of the Paul Beeson Career Development Award in Aging Research (K23 AG026749-01) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology's Association of Specialty Professors' Junior Development Award in Geriatric Oncology. She serves on the editorial board of the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, the Journal of Clinical Oncology and Oncologist.

He knew victories and defeats at Chattanooga, the Atlanta and Tennessee Campaigns. He fought under the great leaders of the war in the west, Braxton Bragg, Joseph Johnston, and John Bell Hood. He found that what had appeared to be the road to glory was the highway to hell. He struggles to survive and return home to Texas a world weary fifteen year old, a changed young man. STEPHEN L. TURNER was born a fifth generation Texan, sixth generation Arkansan, and eighth generation American. His youth was steeped in the history and culture of his heritage. A graduate of Texas Tech School of Medicine, he has worked as a pediatrician in rural Plainview, Texas since 1984. He is married with two married children. His other time is spent on their panhandle ranch, raising horses and hunting. His other time is spent on their panhandle ranch, raising horses and hunting. Unique perspective

Written with the perspective of a boy beginning his teens, On the Road to Glory, lets the reader experience the Civil War through young Aaron's eyes. The descriptions of the war are not sugar-coated, but are realistic. As the reader, you will gain insight into how the war separated families, exposed young men to bloody battles for causes that they didn't fully understand, and how they found courage on their accelerated path to becoming a man. Beyond the tragedies of war, this book captures sweetness, humor, and the deep bonding of brothers and fellow soldiers. This book is a must for those interested in the Civil War but also will relate to young readers and even moms.

My kiddos love all the books in this series. An outstanding series of books for all children. The books are very entertaining and engaging. Stephen Turner has once again provided his readers with an opportunity to learn about historical events and times. We look forward to each new book as a family. These books warrant my highest recommendation. As an elementary teacher, I feel that this books as well as the others in the series would be a wonderful addition to any teacher's classroom library.

I feel like I knew Grandpa Turner but he died before I was born. I enjoyed Steve Turner's story about him and his experiences as a young man. I feel
that I knew him because I found census records, his marriage record and his children's birth records, his death record, burial records and photos of him in his later days. I wish I had known him. I look forward to reading more in future books.

Must Read for New Moms!

This book was given to me by my ob/gyn office just before the birth of our son. I read it faithfully each day after we came home from the hospital and it really helped me through those first weeks, which were a lot tougher than I'd anticipated. I was hormonal already, I know, but I cried a lot as I read it--the author hit everything I was feeling right on the head. Baby Boot Camp is a terrific devotional book that spiritually took me to where I needed to be, while being very realistic about the ups and downs of new motherhood. I truly believe every mom should be handed this book along with the baby as they leave the hospital!

As a brand new mother, I received such encouragement from this book. I realized just how precious a privilege it is to be entrusted by God to raise one of His special gifts. I felt overwhelmed and underqualified as I realized how much my daughter will look to me. Even in the "hard" times of sleepless nights and fussy days, this book helped me see the joy and amazement in every moment. My only complaint of the book is that it ended too soon!

A MUST Have for New Mothers!

This is the best devotional I could have asked for as a new mother. I love her stories (from her experiences), ideas, and most of all, Godly advice and encouragement for new mothers. I can not say enough good stuff about this book. I am keeping it to give to my son's wife when they have a baby (he's 4 mos. old!)...it's that good! And I ordered some for all my pregnant friends.

Wanda Lee's passion for engaging others to understand and be radically involved in the mission of God is evident in her writing, speaking, and in her dynamic leadership as executive director of national Woman's Missionary Union (WMU) since 2000. WMU is responsible for helping to develop indigenous missions ministries in 47 countries globally. Lee's books, monthly magazine column, extensive speaking schedule, and travel allow her to encourage and challenge diverse audiences. Dynamic and focused, Lee has served at and encourages individuals in missional living, at the church and association levels, as a WMU president in Georgia, and also on the missions field. She brings this wealth of compelling stories from that service as an international missionary, registered nurse, executive, and as a pastor's wife. Wanda and husband, Larry Lee, reside in Birmingham, Alabama, have two adult children and two young grandsons.
